Tournament - Gulf Coast #2

Florida Speech & Debate Initiative - Gulf Coast #2 @ Sarasota School of the Arts and Sciences

There were 123 students from 17 schools and 9 counties. Gulf Coast’s biggest ever! 

Results:

Out of the members from Tyrone who competed, 2 placed.  Which is awesome!!!

Alejandro Yanes Dominguez (8^th grader) - first competition, started strong with a 2^nd place achievement in Impromptu Speech

Isabella Machado Mayor (8^th grader) - second year of speech and debate, 3^rd place in Declamation

Other competing members of the Tyrone Speech and Debate Team (comprised of 7^th and 8^th graders) who participated that day: Kristijan Kokotovic (8^th grade - first year of Speech and Debate), Selena Heric (8^th grade - first year of Speech and Debate), Dralyr Ammerman (8^th grade - second year of Speech and Debate), Emiline Dupont (7^th grade - first year of Speech and Debate), Hailey Walsh (7^th grade - first year of Speech and Debate), and Nathaniel Haines (7^th grade - first year of Speech and Debate).

Parents and guardians also came and showed their support! The Tyrone members not only had a fun day, but learned so much with their feedback from the judges and by observing other students competing.
